Owen 7 Months

Owen will be 7 months this week. He is coming into his own little self, with such a fun personality. He is our little wild guy! He talks up a storm, he even has said "Ma Ma". I pretend that it is intentional, but I know that is not the case yet. He is on the verge of crawling, I keep waiting to look at him and he take off, but he has not put it all together yet. We have had a fun month, we went into Chicago 2 times and stayed in a hotel. Owen was wonderful, he really adapts so well wherever we go. We went to the Chicago Marathon Expo, his first experience and many more!

He had his first taste of frosting for Ryan's birthday. He of course loved it, takes after his mom!

He played out in the leaves, however, I think he began to get scared when dad raked the leaves all around him.

Owen-6 Months Old!

Owen is 6 Months!! Half a year has already gone by and I still can't believe it. He is coming in to his own little personality and learning new things everyday. His bottom 2 teeth came through this past week, and amazingly he has not been fussy! Overall, he is such a happy little guy, very curious and aware of everything around him, and giggles all the time! Owen gets up on his hands and knees rocking back and forth trying to crawl, so I think it is just a matter of time. He is able to move around in circles using his upper body. He is one very strong little guy! He loves to jump all over in his johnny jumper and play in his exersaucer, shaking it like a wild man. He also talks up a storm and it looks like he really is trying to say something to you and carry on a conversation at times. Below are some more recent pictures of Owen.

This was at about 6 am, yeah he sleeps in a tie! He was as happy as could be this morning and making tons of noises. It was at grandma and grandpa Bogdonas' house and he woke everyone up because of how loud he was talking and making noises early that morning.

The next 2 pictures were taken by our good friend Mike Radford. He should be a professional photographer! They were taken at a shower for our friends Chris and Marianne, who just gave birth to Owen's future girlfriend-Belle Marie Neidhart! Can't wait to meet her.

Owen 5 Months

Almost a month has passed since I last posted. I am thinking this is becoming a monthly update on Owen since I do not have time to post weekly anymore. School is in full swing, Owen is doing great at the babysitter, and Ryan and I are harvesting our garden crops!

Everyone probably wants to know what Owen is doing now at 5 months!?! He is a rolly polly, getting up on his legs and hands but then not sure how to move. He loves his johnny jumper and his exersaucer. He began eating pureed fruits and veggies. So far avocados, bananas, pears, carrots, and sweet potatoes, and he loves them all! I am making his baby food which has been alot of fun. He is the best thing to come home to after a long day at work (in addition to coming home to my wonderful husband). We are having so much fun with him now at this age because he is laughing and smiling and talking to us. Below are some pics of the little man, oh how he has grown and changed!

Cavanaugh Family Week

I know that it has been a long time since I last posted. It is getting difficult to keep up this summer as it is flying by and we have been on the run almost every weekend. You all are probably wondering what our little man Owen is up to these days at 4 months and counting.

Things that Owen is doing at 4 months:

-Laughing and talking up a storm

We went to the cottage for the past week with the Cavanaugh clan. Owen was loving the fresh air! He was content in his carrier walking around and hanging out by the water.

He was not loving being in the water though! It was a bit cold so I think that was why.
Owen and I were helping bring cut down trees to the woods. We had to put in our fair share of work like everyone else!
Owen and grandpa with the 11 puppies. Owen seemed to like them and I think him and the puppies understood eachother's language. He loved talking and talking to them.
Owen loves standing (with support of course). He thinks he is quite the big boy! I think we are going to be in trouble with him.

Owen is 3 Months!

Owen is 3 months old!! I can't believe 3 months have already gone by. He is changing every day. I swear when I get home at night from work that he looks different from when I left him in the morning. He is starting to get a personality and a temper at times! We are having fun with him as he is becoming more aware of his surroundings and of us. Below are some pictures of Owen in his clothes bin. On Father's Day we had quite the day with him as he was not a very happy camper. So Ryan decided to stick him in the bin of clothes that I was organizing and it quieted him down for some reason. Must have been the Packer's outfit!

That is about it for now. Ryan and I are just busy with balancing work, playing with Owen, me nursing and pumping and we are training for Chicago Marathon. It has been tough but I have actually been getting in most of my runs. I don't think it will be a personal best though for me.

Back to Work

Back to work for a week now. It has been somewhat difficult being back and juggling that with everything at home and spending time with Owen in the small amount of time when I get home before he goes to bed. Luckily my mom was here to watch him the first few days that I was back so it made it a lot easier to leave him. I did bring him to our future babysitter for a day. I hope he was not too overwhelming or difficult for her. He did take a nice long nap for her, so I think that balanced out a little fussy period. The most difficult part is balancing work with pumping during the day.

Here are some updated pictures of Owen over the past few weeks. I can't believe that he is already going to be 3 months old next week. How time flies!

Owen's Baptism and His First Trip to the Cottage

Owen's Baptism was this past Sunday. Thanks to everyone in our family who was able to come and celebrate the day with us. The priest told us that our group looked like the mob because we had about 50 people there for Owen! Owen was so well behaved, only a small little cry. I think he actually liked the water on his head, since he loves his baths.

Memorial Day weekend we made our first venture up to the cottage. It was about a 5 hour car drive and Owen did great. The way up only 2 stops, it would have been one for a feeding and diaper change but then minutes after we left from that stop he had a major blow out and we had to stop one more time. One the way home we stopped 2 times also. He was a trooper!

Owen and I went out to the boat house to see what dad was doing. Owen was really looking around, especially at all of the fishing poles. I think he is going to love fishing with dad when he gets a little older.
